Moiré /1 results from an exploration into geometry and interference between forms.

A triangular octahedron nests within a diamond triacontagon. Its points pierce and suspend it centrally within the outer shape. The light source is surrounded by a double layer of perforated brass sheet causing the viewer to perceive kinetic interference patterns moving across the shade as their viewing angle changes. These patterns were first identified in the French silk textile, Moiré, which lends its name to the shade.

The piece projects its intricate structure outwards, casting delicate shadows onto surrounding surfaces.
