The Moire/I is a brass pendant lampshade born from an ongoing study of industrial textures, complex geometry, and interference between forms. It consists of two nested shapes, one suspended centrally within the other. The corners of the inner shape pierce through the outer.

The design surrounds the light source with a double layer of perforated brass sheet, which causes the viewer to perceive kinetic interference patterns moving across the shade as their viewing angle changes. These patterns were first identified in the French silk textile, Moiré, which lends the shade its name.
