HALOCLINE SKY  |  JASON BRUGES STUDIO

2022 | Water Street. Tampa, USA

Lead design / Project lead

Halocline Sky celebrates the notion that diversity, interaction and exchange are at the heart of flourishing ecologies and cultures.

The work sits at the edge of Tampa Bay, who’s unique eco-system results from the continuous mixing of fresh & saline water. The surrounding city is a centre of cultural trading as a major historic port through which peoples & cultures continue to enter The United States.

The artwork explores the concept of interaction through the visualization of distinct ‘fluid’ elements, driven by a real-time fluid dynamic simulation. The light flows and mixes in response to visitors' use of the surrounding spaces.
