‘Tower: Instant Structure’ is a monolithic yet ephemeral tower of falling water consisting of 30,000 litres cycled every minute.

The walls appear and disappear instantaneously as the water is stopped and started, in sharp contrast to the surrounding solid and static architecture of the decommissioned Zeche Zollverein coal mine. The ‘simulated structure’ of Tower is transient and temporary, and explores the nature of a surrounding region itself undergoing transformation.
